Abstract:
Since 1983 National Science Council, Executive Yuan has continued to compile Yearbook of Science and Technology Taiwan ROC annually to give overall account of Taiwan's technology policies; technology research achievement of the industrial, governmental and academic sectors; and S&T development measures each year to help the government formulate policies and stay abreast of the trend of technology advancement and familiarize international and local communities with Taiwan's technology progress. From 2005 on, Science &Technology Policy Research & Information Center National Applied Research Laboratories has been responsible for publication of Yearbook of Science and Technology Taiwan ROC. Incorporating national science and technology yearbook publication experiences around the world and expert opinions of concerned agencies as the publication purpose and general framework, Science & Technology Policy Research & Information Center adjusted the structure and content presentation of each part and chapter. Through the editorial assistance of experts from different disciplines, the readability of the technology research achievement is enhanced, on the one hand; through establishment of the annual theme of the yearbook, Taiwan's significant S&T development issues are highlighted.
